BUCHANAN (Aberdeenshire, E.)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the evidence recently given as to the cruelty inflicted on cattle in transport by the defective arrangements of the railway companies, he will impress upon the companies the necessity of providing better accommodation for cattle in transit, and securing for them more humane treatment?

Member refers unless it be the evidence given at the Colchester Police Court affecting, not the railway companies generally, but the Great 1232 Eastern Railway Company.
