§ SIR ARTHUR FORWOODI beg to ask the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is aware that in some battalions of regiments certain minor offences are entered on a private sheet, such minor crimes not being afterwards included either in the company or regimental defaulter sheets, and that this variation in practice results in some regiments having nominally a smaller proportion of crime than others, due altogether to a difference of procedure; 649 and, whether he will take steps to secure uniformity of practice in all regimental battalions?
MR. POWELL-WILLIAMSThe military authorities are not aware of any such practice as that referred to in the question, but if the hon. Member will furnish me with the names of the regiments in which it is alleged to obtain, inquiry shall be made.
