HC Deb 03 July 1896 vol 42 cc656-7
MR. MICHAEL AUSTIN

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if he would consider the desirability of appointing an agricultural Labour Correspondent for Ireland, as in England, for the purpose of supplying monthly reports to the Labour Gazette.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. C. T. RITCHIE,) Croydon

The duties of the present Agricultural Correspondent of the Labour Department of the Board of Trade extend to the whole of the United Kingdom, and information bearing on agricultural labour in Ireland is collected and published from time to time by the Department.

MR. AUSTIN

When did a report regarding Ireland last appear in the Labour Gazette?

MR. RITCHIE

If the hon. Member will put the Question down I will inform him.
