§ MR. J. P. FARRELL (Cavan, W.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, if he will explain the cause of the delay in completing the sale to the tenants on the estate of Colonel Boreaden, near Ballymahon, in county Longford, of their farms, agreements to purchase which they signed two years ago; and, will he call the attention of the Land Commission to the matter?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURI understand that this case is practically in the same state as when my predecessor replied to a similar question addressed to him on the 17th June last. The Land Commission inform me that it rests in the first place with the Solicitors acting for the parties and with the Solicitor having carriage of the proceedings in the Land Judges Court, to meet the difficulties which have already been pointed out to them. I am looking further into the matter, however, in order to see whether anything can be done to expedite the proceedings.
