M'LEOD (Sutherland)I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether he is aware that the statutory meeting of the Quarter Sessions for the county of Sutherland will be held on Tuesday next, 3rd March; and, whether any appointment has been made to the office of Clerk of the Peace, vacant through the death of the late Sheriff Clerk for the county; and, if not, whether any business can be legally transacted in the absence of a clerk?
