DALZIELI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether his attention has been drawn to the statement, on a prospectus of a company calling itself the Imperial Press, Limited, published in The Times of the 26th instant, that the Company is registered by special permission of Her Majesty's Government; and what special permission, if any, has been granted by the Government to this company?
§ MR. RITCHIEThe foundation for this statement is that application was made, in accordance with the existing 1267 law, to the Home Secretary for permission to use the word "Imperial," and the late Home Secretary gave that permission.
§ In answer to a further question,
§ MR. RITCHIEsaid, special permission has to be obtained by any company using the word "Royal" or "Imperial." That permission has to be obtained from the Home Office, and permission in this case was given by the Home Secretary in the late Government.
