§ MR. J. CALDWELLI beg to ask the Lord Advocate, whether the Government intend to introduce a Bill this Session for bringing Gipsy or Tinker Children in Scotland within the compulsory provisions of the Education Acts, or otherwise for dealing with the education of such children?
§ THE LORD ADVOCATEThe subject referred to in the hon. Member's question is one of great difficulty, 1255 and while the Government fully recognise its importance, and have had under consideration the recommendations of the Departmental Committee which lately reported, I am unable to give an assurance that the subject will be dealt with this Session. But the Department will be glad to receive suggestions from School Boards on the subject.
