§ LIEUT.-GENERAL LAURIE (Pembroke and Haverfordwest)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War, whether there is any intention to alter the uniform of the Army; and, if so, when the changes will come into effect; and, whether any preliminary intimation can be given so that those corps affected may not provide new articles of clothing or equipment which would shortly become obsolete and require replacing, and thus involve fresh expenditure?
§ MR. BRODRICKSome minor alterations of uniform are under consideration; but no decision has yet been come to. In carrying out any changes which may be sanctioned the consideration of giving preliminary intimation so as to avoid fresh expenditure will certainly not be lost sight of.
