§ MR. C. A. WHITMORE (Chelsea)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War, whether the Commissioners of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, have been able to arrange that some compensatory advantage should be given to the general body of its in-pensioners in consequence of the withdrawal, under the Regulations issued on the 22nd of June last, of the privilege, which they had enjoyed for more than 200 years, of selling their old clothing?
§ MR. BRODRICKArrangements have been made to give a grant of 7s. annually to every in-pensioner who had been allowed to dispose of his time-expired clothing previous to the change recently introduced forbidding the sale of the clothing by pensioners.
