§ MR. WILLIAM REDMOND (Clare, E.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has seen a Resolution passed by the Ballyvaughan Board of Guardians denying altogether the statements recently made respecting the Ballyvaughan Union in the British Medical Journal; and whether he will instruct the Local Government Board Inspector to make inquiries into the truth of the statements made?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURI have seen a copy of the Resolution referred to. An inquiry has already been held by the Local Government Board's Inspector and it has been found that the statements made in the special report published by the British Medical Journal, are greatly exaggerated and in many important particulars at variance with the facts. If the hon. Member should desire to read the Official Report I shall be happy to allow him to do so privately.
