HC Deb 17 February 1896 vol 37 c466
MR. WEIR

asked the First Lord of the Treasury whether, in the event of Dr. Jameson claiming to be tried in his native country and according to the laws of Scotland for an alleged offence committed in a foreign country, the Government would grant, his request?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

I think this and other questions connected with the approaching trial of Dr. Jameson should be addressed to the law officers of the Crown.

MR. WEIR

Then I beg to ask the Attorney-General, if he is present, and, failing the Attorney-General, the Solicitor-General. [Laughter]

No answer was given.
