HC Deb 13 February 1896 vol 37 c238
MR. J. G. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, if he will state, whether provision will be made, in the Estimates for increased postal facilities and telegraph extensions in Ross-shire and the Island of Lewis; and, if so, whether he will state what districts are to receive attention this year?

MR. HANBURY

Provision has been made in the Estimates for 1896–7 for further extensions of the telegraph in certain districts in Scotland, but it is not possible at present to say what particular works will be undertaken.
