§ SIR. E. ASHMEAD-BARTLETTI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury when the Colonial Vote will be taken?
§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.As my hon. Friend is aware, there has already been a night devoted to the Colonial Vote, at least to South Africa, and other Votes certainly must come first. I am afraid I cannot promise my hon. friend a very early day for that Vote.
§ SIR E. ASHMEAD-BARTLETTasked whether it was not the fact that the House had been led to expect that an opportunity would be given on this Vote of discussing affairs in the Transvaal.
§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURYWhen the Vote is taken I presume the discussion on that subject will be in order.
