§ SIR ALBERT ROLLITI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs a Question of which I have given him private notice—Whether there is any 1736 foundation for the persistent statements in the public Press that a Treaty has been made between China and Russia giving to the latter country not only large portions of territory, but also great commercial and other advantages?
MR. CURZONHer Majesty's Government have been informed by the Russian Ambassador that the statements which have appeared in the public Press as to a Secret Treaty between China and Russia, by which the former is to cede a large portion of her territory to Russia, is devoid of the slightest foundation.
