CHANNINGI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade, whether the Board of Trade was represented at the inquest held at Strood, on 1733 16th April, on the four platelayers killed in Sapperton Tunnel on 14th April, or have ordered an inspector or sub-inspector to inquire into the circumstances; and, if not, whether he will cause such inquiry to be held with a view to authoritative recommendations by the Board of Trade as to the precautions necessary for the safety of plate-layers in dangerous positions?
