Members, that I was not prepared, as then advised, to exclude carriages from the road to which this Question refers. I am now, however, in communication with the Commissioner of Police and the legal advisers of the Government; and I hope next week to be in a position to state definitively what can be done to meet the wishes of hon. Members who are anxious to secure the greater safety of bicycle riders on the road in question.
