§ MR. T. LOUGH (Islington. W.)asked whether the discussion on the Budget Resolutions on Thursday would be of a general character?
THE FTRST LORD OF THE TREASURYThe Budget Resolutions are to be the first Order on Thursday, and on the third Resolution it will be possible to raise, a general discussion.
§ MR. SYDNEY BUXTON (Tower Hamlets, Poplar)asked whether it would not be more convenient to have a discussion on the Second Reading of the Budget Bill than on the Resolutions.
§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURYIt would, no doubt, be more convenient to do that, but it is competent to hon. Members to raise the discussion on the third Resolution.
§ MR. LOUGHobserved that there was an understanding that there should be a general discussion on Thursday.
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERI have been in communication with the Leader of the Opposition upon this subject, and what my right hon. Friend has said meets with his approval. The first Resolution is a small one relating to stamps, and the second relates to the Income Tax. The third Resolution is of a general character relating to possible amendments of the Customs and Inland Revenue law, and on that there can be a general discussion.
