MR. FIELD

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Leutenant of Ireland, whether arrangements have been made to open the Dublin National Gallery two evenings in the week as heretofore?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I have referred this matter to the Board of Directors of the National Gallery, but have not yet been furnished with their observations.

MR. FIELD

I should like to know when the right hon. Gentleman expects a reply, because I have asked this question before?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I am unable to say when the reply will come. I have twice referred the hon. Member's Question to the Directors of the Dublin National Gallery and I have not received their answer.

MR. FIELD

Have the Government no power to compel the Directors to expedite their movements?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I do not think we have.
