HC Deb 20 April 1896 vol 39 cc1355-6

Considered in Committee.

[Mr. J. W. LOWTHER in the Chair.]

DR. TANNER (Cork, Mid) moved to report Progress.

*THE CHAIRMAN

Order, order! That Motion cannot be put, because this Bill is specially exempted from the operation of the Twelve o'clock Rule. [Cheers.]

DR. TANNER

said that in that case he should ask for an explanation of the purposes for which the money was demanded. ["Order, order!" and laughter.] He required to know why the demand for the money involved in the Bill was made, and if an explanation was given it might save the trouble of a Division. [Laughter.]

Bill reported without amendment; to be read the Third time to-morrow, at Two of the clock.
