§ LORD HUGH CECIL (Greenwich)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether he will consider the propriety of taking steps to cause a public inquiry to be held into the case of Mrs. Maybrick, such inquiry to be presided over by a Judge of the High Court, and conducted under judicial forms.
§ SIR MATTHEW RIDLEYAs I have already stated, I am about to give full and impartial consideration to the case of Mrs. Maybrick; but I have no power to order such an inquiry as is suggested.
