M'KILLOPI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade, whether he will communicate with the Caledonian Railway Company, as owners of the Forth and Clyde Canal, with reference to the Bonnybridge pend or tunnel under that canal, which is not only unsuitable for the traffic which it has to bear but is dangerous to public safety; and, whether he will press the Company to remedy the existing defects in order to satisfy the requirements of the locality?
§ MR. RITCHIEThe Board of Trade have already been in communication with the Caledonian Railway Company on the subject, but without success. I will see, however, if anything can be done to bring about an arrangement between that Company and the Stirling County Council.
