LUTTRELLI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, whether he can give any information as to what form the further investigation will take into the various proposals for making batter provision for the aged poor; and, 1568 if by a form other than a Committee of this House, whether the investigation will be commenced before the beginning of next Session?
§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURYI cannot give any final statement on this subject to the hon. Gentleman, but I can tell him that the Inquiry will not be by a Committee of this House, but it will probably be departmental. If it is, I trust it may be in work before the next Session of Parliament.
