§ MR. JASPER TULLY (Leitrim, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether he is aware that since police protection has been granted to a man named M'Cordick, in the parish of Drumreilly, South Leitrim, the constabulary have turned his house into a temporary barrack, and employed him to run messages; and whether he can state for what further period the police intend to continue making payments to this man for these purposes?
MR. JOHN MORLEYIt is a fact that the man named in the question is receiving special protection, and that his son is occasionally employed by the police in the conveyance of provisions. I am inquiring whether some other arrangement is not practicable.
