JOHN MACLEOD (Sutherlandshire)I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland when his decision will be announced in regard to the application of the Anstruther-Easter Parochial Board for the disjunction of part of the parish of Kilrenny, and its addition to the burghal parish of Anstruther, a local inquiry into which was held as long ago as 23rd February; and what is the cause of the delay?
§ THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Sir GEORGE TREVELYAN,) Glasgow, BridgetonI have been in communication with the Sheriff who conducted the inquiry, and regret to find that the delay in furnishing me with his report has been mainly caused by illness. The Sheriff hopes, however, to be able to let me have his report next week, when no time will be lost in arriving at a decision.
