HC Deb 16 May 1895 vol 33 c1343
SIR ELLIS ASHMEAD-BARTLETT

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, whether he can now state the terms of the peace between Japan and China; and whether he can state what alterations have been made in the original terms of peace in consequence of pressure from certain European Powers?

SIR EDWARD GREY

A statement cannot be made till the terms have been officially communicated by the Powers concerned.
