§ MR. T. R. BUCHANAN (Aberdeenshire, E.)I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he will proceed with the Motion for the appointment of the Scotch Grand Committee?
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Sir W. HARCOURT,) DerbyI am not able to state what day.
§ MR. BUCHANANI shall repeat the question on Monday.
§ SIR DONALD MACFARLANE (Argyll)Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is a very strong opinion among a large number of Scotch Members that if any further delay takes place in connection with the Motion and the reference of the Crofters' Bill to the Scotch Grand Committee, they will have to reconsider their action towards the Government?
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERMy only answer to that question is that it is entirely open to the hon. Member and his Friends to reconsider their position with reference to the Government.
§ MR. G. C. T. BARTLEY (Islington, N.)pointed out that the Government had agreed to certain modifications in the Resolution, and asked when the right hon. Gentleman could put the amended terms in the paper.
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERI will take care that that is done.
§ *DR. MACGREGOR (Inverness-shire)I wish to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he means by his answer to imply that he is going to show the white feather to the Opposition.
