JEFFREYS (Hants, Basingstoke)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he has received a copy of a resolution lately passed by the Central Chamber of Agriculture, in which they express their opinion that it is unjust that foreign milk should be permitted to be sold in this country, unless it has been sterilised in the interests of consumers, until the Board of Agriculture is satisfied that there is no possible risk of the introduction of disease; and, whether he proposes to take steps to carry out this Resolution?
§ *MR. HERBERT GARDNERI have received a copy of the resolution to which the hon. Member refers; but the protection of the public health is a matter which falls within the province of my right hon. Friend the President of the Local Government Board and not of my own Department. I may refer the hon. Member to the reply given by my right hon. Friend to the similar questions addressed to him on this subject yesterday.
