§ MR. J. W. CROMBIE (Kincardineshire)I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether any steps have been taken, in the direction indicated by him a year ago to a deputation of those interested in the higher education in Scotland, of discussing a scheme for coordinating the work of the Science and Art and Agricultural Departments with the Department of Scottish Education; and whether he hopes soon to be able to submit some such scheme to the House?
§ THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Sir G. O. TREVELYAN,) Glasgow, BridgetonThe Departments have been in consultation upon this matter, and I am in hopes that some arrangement will be found possible. But several difficult questions are involved, and these require most careful consideration.
