HC Deb 21 March 1895 vol 31 c1541
MR. J. W. CROMBIE (Kincardineshire)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether any steps have been taken, in the direction indicated by him a year ago to a deputation of those interested in the higher education in Scotland, of discussing a scheme for coordinating the work of the Science and Art and Agricultural Departments with the Department of Scottish Education; and whether he hopes soon to be able to submit some such scheme to the House?

THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Sir G. O. TREVELYAN,) Glasgow, Bridgeton

The Departments have been in consultation upon this matter, and I am in hopes that some arrangement will be found possible. But several difficult questions are involved, and these require most careful consideration.
