HC Deb 18 March 1895 vol 31 c1349

Considered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

Resolved, That it is expedient to make provision for the construction of works and acquisition of land in the United Kingdom, and in certain Colonies, for the purposes of the Royal Navy, and to authorise the issue, out of the Consolidated Fund, of any sums not exceeding in the whole £1,000,000 for such purposes.

Resolved, That it is expedient to authorise the Treasury to borrow, for the purpose of providing money for sums to be issued out of the Consolidated Fund, or for the repayment of sums so issued, by means of terminable annuities, such annuities to be paid out of moneys to be provided by Parliament for Naval Services; and, if those moneys are insufficient, out of the Consolidated Fund.—(Sir W. Harcourt.)
