HC Deb 18 March 1895 vol 31 c1269
MR. JAMES STUART (Shoreditch, Hoxton)

I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when the Committee will be appointed in connection with the distribution part of the Probate Duty and of the proceeds of Licences made under the Local Government Act of 1888; and, whether this Committee will deal with the whole question, or only with that portion of it which affected the sum paid to the Metropolis, as compared with the rest of the country?

SIR W. HARCOURT

I must ask my hon. Friend to postpone this question for a little time, because I should like to consult on the subject with the Secretary of State for India, who is, unfortunately, absent from ill-health.
