HC Deb 11 March 1895 vol 31 c753
MR. H. T. ANSTRUTHER (St. Andrews Burghs)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if he has had under consideration a petition to alter the boundaries of the jurisdiction of the Sheriff Courts in the County of Fife, and the objections of the Magistrates and Council of Cupar Fife thereto; and if he can announce the conclusion at which he has arrived in the matter?

THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Sir G. O. TREVELYAN, Glasgow, Bridgeton)

The Sheriff of the County has held a full inquiry and heard all parties interested in this Petition. After careful consideration of his Report, and of the representations in favour of the Petition and against it, I have decided to make no change in the existing boundaries.

MR. DALZIEL (Kirkcaldy District)

I wish to ask whether the fact was taken into consideration that a strong representation was made by the District Council on the subject?

SIR G. O. TREVELYAN

That fact was considered, but notwithstanding, I came to the conclusion I have stated.

MR. DALZIEL

I beg to give notice that I shall call attention to this matter.
