§ MR. H. T. ANSTRUTHER (St. Andrews Burghs)I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if he has had under consideration a petition to alter the boundaries of the jurisdiction of the Sheriff Courts in the County of Fife, and the objections of the Magistrates and Council of Cupar Fife thereto; and if he can announce the conclusion at which he has arrived in the matter?
§ THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Sir G. O. TREVELYAN, Glasgow, Bridgeton)The Sheriff of the County has held a full inquiry and heard all parties interested in this Petition. After careful consideration of his Report, and of the representations in favour of the Petition and against it, I have decided to make no change in the existing boundaries.
§ MR. DALZIEL (Kirkcaldy District)I wish to ask whether the fact was taken into consideration that a strong representation was made by the District Council on the subject?
§ SIR G. O. TREVELYANThat fact was considered, but notwithstanding, I came to the conclusion I have stated.
§ MR. DALZIELI beg to give notice that I shall call attention to this matter.
