MACDONALD (Tower Hamlets, Bow)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the 28th Section of the Towns Police Clauses Act, 1847, which prohibits any person standing on the sill of of any window in order to clean, paint, or perform any other operation upon the outside of such window, applies to London; and, if not, whether any similar prohibition exists applicable to London?
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. ASQUITH, Fife, E.)No, it does not apply to London, neither is there at at present any similar prohibition with regard to the Metropolis, but I hope it may be made applicable whenever the Metropolitan Police Acts may be amended.
