ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board, whether he will state whether he has received a Resolution passed by the Local Government Committee of the County Council of Denbighshire, in favour of the formation of a rural district council for sanitary and highway purposes, known as the Llansilin District Council; and, whether, as the ratepayers in the locality are strongly in favour of the proposed new district council, he will make an order for such a district?
§ MR. SHAW-LEFEVREThe Local Government Board have not received a copy of any such Resolution as that referred to in the question. I may remind my hon. Friend that the Local Government Board are not themselves empowered to alter a rural district. This is a matter to be dealt with by the County Council, subject to an appeal to the Board.
