HC Deb 17 June 1895 vol 34 cc1253-4
COLONEL HOWARD VINCENT (Sheffield, Central)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, if he is able to state what fiscal advantages are given in the Colonial possessions of France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands to goods imported from the Mother Country over goods imported from foreign countries; and what fiscal advantages are in return conceded by France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands to goods imported from their own Colonies instead of from other countries?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (SIR E. GREY, Northumberland, Berwick)

Since the hon. and gallant Member last asked a question on this subject some further information has been received. We will have this brought up to date as far as possible, so as to present a Paper giving the latest information.
