ELLISI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, having regard to the proved danger to life of the manner in which shot firing is now carried on in many coal-mines, and the investigation, report, and recommendations of the Royal Commission on Explosions from Coal Dust in Mines, he is prepared to introduce and press forward a Bill dealing with the subject?
§ MR. ASQUITHI have prepared a Bill dealing with fiery and dusty mines and with the precautions to be taken in firing shots in mines. The recommendations of the Royal Commission have been attended to in framing the Bill, and I hope to introduce it at an early date.
