HC Deb 21 February 1895 vol 30 c1280
MR. W. S. CAINE (Bradford, E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India if the punitive police force is still quartered on the village of Balladhun?

MR. H. H. FOWLER

The punitive police force quartered on the villages in the Cachar district, of which Balladhun is one, was sanctioned for one year only, which ended on the 30th June 1894. On the 4th June the Chief Commissioner declined to sanction its retention for a further period. It may, therefore, be assumed that the force has been withdrawn.
