HC Deb 21 February 1895 vol 30 c1282
*Mr. J. G. WEIR

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if he is now in a position to state when the lighthouse on the Flannan Islands, recommended by the Commissioners of Northern Lighthouses, will be commenced.

Mr. BRYCE

The estimates of the three general lighthouse authorities for the coming year are now under consideration, and no decision has yet been arrived at. The erection of a light on Flannan Islands is one out of several new works which have in principle been approved; but, in the present condition of the Mercantile Marine Fund, not all of those approved can be undertaken in the coming year.
