§ MR. MICHAEL AUSTIN (Limerick, W.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether any working men had been appointed Justices of the Peace in Ireland; and, if so, how many?
MR. J. MORLEYIf the expression "working men" means artizans or daily labourers, none have been placed in the Commission for counties. There have, however, been instances in which working farmers have been appointed to the Commission. The Lord Chancellor will consider each application on its merits. Borough appointments are not made by him.
