§ MR. R. W. HANBURYI beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, the price of Consols having risen so much above par, the deposits in the Post Office Savings Banks now earn sufficient to pay the rate of interest to depositors hitherto paid and the expenses of management; and, if not, whether it is proposed to alter the rate of interest or to meet the difficulty in some other way.
