HC Deb 12 February 1895 vol 30 c564
*DR. ROBERT AMBROSE (Louth, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, what steps have been taken to relieve the distress existing in West Mayo?

MR. J. MORLEY

Relief works have been opened in the three Electoral Divisions which comprise Achill Island, and on the mainland adjoining. Works are also in progress in the Ballinrobe Union, and it is proposed to lay out other works in the Ballina and Killala Unions towards the end of this month, and, at a later date, in the Union of Belmullet.
