HC Deb 08 February 1895 vol 30 c305
MR. J. KEIR HARDIE (West Ham)

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the acute distress prevailing and the need for immediate relief, he would make it an instruction to the Unemployed Committee to make an interim report without delay on what measures which might be adopted, either by the Government or Local Authorities, to tide those out of work over the present winter.

MR. J. MORLEY (on behalf of Sir W. Harcourt)

It would be premature to determine instructions to the Committee before the Resolution for the Committee is submitted to the House, which it is intended to be as soon as possible.
