HC Deb 08 February 1895 vol 30 c294
MAJOR L. DARWIN (Staffordshire, Lichfield)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether any action has yet been taken with regard to the alleged illegal railway fares now charged on the Metropolitan District Railway?

MR. BRYCE

The Board of Trade, during the Recess, made every effort to arrive at an arrangement on the question referred to by my hon. and gallant Friend which would be generally satisfactory, but they have ultimately been obliged to instruct their solicitor, who is now in communication with the Law Officers on. The subject. The matter is not free from difficulty, and I do not think it is desirable that I should say more at present.
