§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Mr. JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN,) Birmingham, W.The Report for 1894–95 has not yet been received. The Report for 1893–94, which was delayed owing to over-pressure of work in the Chief Secretary's Office, is only now about to be distributed to Members.
§ * MR. PIERPOINTMay I ask whether the right hon. Gentleman is aware that the last Report was issued in June of that year?
§ Mr. J. CHAMBERLAINYes. The delay is unfortunate, but it is due to the fact that there has been tremendous pressure on the Chief Secretary's Office at Cyprus. Owing to the condition of the Colony, every effort has been made to keep down expense.
