§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Sir MICHAEL HICKS BEACH,) Bristol, W.A grant of £3,000 was made for the last financial year (1894–95) for preliminary expenses of the University. This, I understand, was found insufficient, and my predecessor undertook that a Grant of the same amount should be made for the current financial year. Provision for this will be made in the Supplementary Estimates, which will shortly be in the hands of hon. Members.
