HC Deb 30 April 1895 vol 33 c127
MAJOR RASCH (Essex, S. E.)

I beg to ask the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether the Department have come to any determination as to the pay and treatment of the men employed at the Government Magazines at Purfleet?

MR. WOODALL

As regards the pay of the men of the Ordnance Store Department employed at Purfleet, it has been decided to place them on the same footing as the men employed at Woolwich Arsenal. With regard to the clothing, it is considered that the present scale is sufficient for the special duties which the men are called upon to perform, and any extra articles must be provided at their own expense.
