Im moving the Second Reading of this Bill,

*THE UNDER SECRETARY of STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. GEORGE RUSSELL, North Beds)

said, that the Bill, which was agreed to by the Legislatures of the Channel Islands, provided for the transfer to the reformatory and industrial schools of England of children ordered to be removed to such schools by the Courts of the Channel Islands. As far as he, knew there was no objection to the Bill on any ground.

MR. STUART-WORTLEY (Sheffield, Hallam)

asked whether the charge for maintenance of the children in the schools would be borne by the authorities of the Channel Islands.
