HC Deb 10 May 1894 vol 24 c761
MR. W. LONG (Liverpool, West Derby)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board if he is aware that in Liverpool and other large county boroughs the revision of the Register before one Barrister usually extends several days beyond the 22nd of September, the date mentioned in the Parochial Registration Acceleration Bill, and that notwithstanding the Registers are always completed for the municipal elections held on the 1st November, will he, under these circumstances, exclude county boroughs from the operation of the Bill, and thereby avoid the inconvenience and expense incident to the employment of an additional Revising Barrister?

MR. SHAW-LEFEVRE

The point referred to was brought under my notice, and I am considering whether it will be possible to introduce an Amendment in the Bill to meet it.
