§ MR. PICKERSGILL (Bethnal Green, S. W.)moved the Second Reading of this Bill. He said, it was not in any sense a Party measure. It was backed by two hon. Members on the other side of the House. It was purely a London Bill, and its object was to amend the Valua- 199 tion Bill of 1869 and secure more uniformity in assessments throughout the Metropolis. If the House would agree to the Second Reading he proposed to refer the Bill to a Select Committee.
§ Objection being taken, Second Reading deferred till Friday.
