§ MR. CLANCYI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he intends to introduce and press forward this Session a Bill amending the Labourers (Ireland) Acts, with a view to shortening and cheapening the procedure prescribed by those enactments; and, if not, whether he will give facilities for the passage of such a Bill through the House if introduced by a private Member?
MR. J. MORLEYIt would, I fear, be quite impossible for the Government to introduce a Bill having for its object the amendment of the Labourers Acts, and until I see the provisions of a Private Bill on the subject I cannot say anything with regard to it.
