ASHMEAD-BARTLETT (Sheffield, Elccesall)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government will endeavour to come to an understanding with the French Government that French Forces shall not advance into the Equatorial Provinces during the discussion of the French claims with regard to the Congo Treaty of the 12th of May? I should also like to ask the hon. Baronet if he can inform the House as to the present position of the French forces?
